BuddyPress is also a very social forum. It tends to operate more as updates that are put in a feed by members, which might not quite fit the LMS discussion forum dynamic we’re looking for. But if the monks are accustomed to chatting apps like Whatsap, I wonder if this will feel more familiar.

The updates could work like a topic, which can then be threaded with replies.
